Nicole Cahoon, Chartered Professional Accountant
Having lived in the Comox Valley for nearly 2 decades Nicole has a deep connection to her community. She has been involved with a variety of charitable and business events, including organizing a hamper program, and facilitating an annual event through Corporate Connections, which raised tens of thousands of dollars for the various organizations in our community.
As a Chartered Professional Accountant, Nicole operates from the perspective of a small business owner, giving her the ability to offer practical solutions, insightful planning, and achievable objectives for her clients.
In her down time, Nicole enjoys travelling with her family and friends.
Emily Opatril, Staff Accountant
With a solid understanding of accounting principles, Emily is focused on developing practical skills and supporting clients with their financial needs. Emily has been with Nicole Cahoon Inc. for 5 years and has recently completed CFE Exam.
Living and working in the Comox Valley allows Emily to take advantage of the natural beauty of Vancouver Island through activities like hiking and scuba diving. This balance between work and outdoor pursuits helps maintain a grounded perspective and focus in both her studies and career development.
Melissa Keeping, Senior Administration
Melissa joined our office in January of 2021. With a strong track record in customer service, an administration background and bookkeeping certificate, she works closely with our administration team and assists with bookkeeping.
She is often out enjoying the wilderness with family and friends. Melissa has a passion for travel and when she’s not planning her next travel adventure, she can be found with a good book.

Harley, Chief Happiness Officer
With boundless energy, a wagging tail and a knack for brightening everyone’s day, Harley ensures the office is always full of smiles and positive vibes. When not supervising team morale, Harley enjoys her pack walks, chasing balls and playing with her two rescue sisters. Known for her treat-detecting nose Harley excels at detecting lunchtime and devouring her favourite treats - carrots.
Harley is an essential part of our company’s culture.
