    Nicole Cahoon Inc Chartered Professional Accountant is a growing accounting firm dedicated to providing exceptional financial and tax services to businesses and individuals. We’re looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Technician to join our team and play a key role in supporting our clients’ financial success.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Prepare and process working papers and financial statements for compilation engagements in accordance with Canadian accounting standards.

    Record and reconcile transactions in general ledgers for multiple clients.

    Prepare and file GST/HST, PST, and other tax remittances.

    Assist in the preparation of corporate and personal tax returns (T2 and T1).

    Conduct payroll processing, including remittances for CPP, EI, and income taxes.

    Support clients in organizing and maintaining financial records.

    Assist with year-end closing activities and ensure files are complete and accurate.

    Communicate with clients to address inquiries and gather necessary information.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    Diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

    Experience:

    Minimum [e.g., 2–3 years] experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or tax preparation in a professional setting.

    Familiarity with Canadian accounting and tax regulations.

    Technical Skills:

    Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, CaseWare) and Microsoft Excel.

    Knowledge of tax software (Profile) is an asset.

    Soft Skills:

    Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

    Excellent time management skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.

    Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.

    Hours: Flexible, 15–20 hours per week

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team and help support our clients bookkeeping and financial needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients using Sage, QuickBooks, Caseware

    Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.

    Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.

    Prepare and submit GST/HST, PST, and payroll remittances.

    Assist in the preparation of financial reports and summaries.

    Ensure compliance with Canadian tax regulations and bookkeeping standards.

    Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure client files are up-to-date and complete.

  • Position: Temporary Tax Preparer

    Employment Type: Temporary/Seasonal  (February – May)

As tax season approaches, we’re seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Temporary Tax Preparer to join our team during the busiest time of the year. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a knack for numbers, we’d love to have you on board!

    Key Responsibilities:

    Prepare and file personal income tax returns (T1) for individuals, and  ensuring compliance with CRA regulations.

    Review and organize client documents, including T4s, T5s, RRSP receipts, and other tax slips.

    Identify and apply deductions, credits, and other tax-saving opportunities for clients.

    Provide excellent client service by answering tax-related questions and ensuring accuracy and completeness of returns.

    Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive client information.

    Collaborate with other team members to meet deadlines during tax season.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    Certificate, diploma, or coursework in accounting, tax, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

    Experience:

    Minimum [1–2 years] of experience in tax preparation, preferably in a professional setting.

    Familiarity with Canadian personal income tax laws and regulations.

    Technical Skills:

    Proficiency in tax software (Profile) and Microsoft Office Suite.

    Strong ability to organize and analyze client-provided documents.
